General care tips
Protect from direct sunlight
Do not leave your piece in strong sunlight for long periods. Prolonged UV exposure can cause the natural colour of leather and suede to fade.
Keep away from moisture and water
Genuine leather and suede are natural materials. Heavy rain, high humidity and prolonged contact with water can affect the structure of the material.
If your piece gets wet:
- dab away excess moisture with a dry, soft cloth,
- leave it to dry at room temperature,
- do not use a hairdryer, radiator or any direct heat source.
Avoid direct contact with cosmetics
Perfume, hand cream, make-up, cologne and alcohol-based cleaners can leave permanent marks or cause colour changes on the leather surface.
Do not overfill your bag
Every DAPHMIN bag is designed to keep its shape for many years. However, carrying more weight than necessary can cause:
- loss of shape,
- unnecessary strain on the straps,
- stress on the stitching.
Storage tips
When you are not using your piece:
- keep it in its own dust bag,
- choose a cool, dry place,
- fill the bag with acid-free paper or soft padding to help it keep its shape,
- store chains and straps inside the bag,
- keep zips and flaps closed.
Genuine leather
By its nature, genuine leather may show light grain marks, natural creases and variations in tone. These details are a sign of the leather's natural origin and make every piece unique.
Everyday cleaning
Gently wiping with a soft, slightly damp microfibre cloth is enough. When more thorough care is needed, choose professional leather care products or specialist help.
Genuine suede
Suede has a look full of character thanks to its natural texture. Its surface may show differences in tone depending on the direction of the nap. This is an entirely natural feature.
Suede tips
- Avoid contact with water and oil.
- When dust builds up, brush gently in one direction with a suede brush.
- Do not use household chemicals on stains.
- Use a professional care service when needed.
Canvas
DAPHMIN canvas pieces are made from heavyweight cotton fabric. Leaving them in the sun for long periods may cause natural colour changes.
Cleaning
- The surface can be cleaned with a slightly damp cloth.
- Do not machine wash.
- Do not tumble dry.
Metal hardware
To keep metal hardware shining:
- wipe with a soft, dry cloth,
- do not use chemical cleaners,
- do not expose it to salt water or high humidity for long periods.
Colour transfer
Especially with dark leather and suede pieces, slight pigment transfer onto light-coloured clothing may occur during the first uses. This is one of the characteristic features of a natural material.
